“You claim that the sexual harassment occurred on Dec. 8, 2023, but your allegation was not made until Feb. 28, 2025. One year and two months after,” Agbakoba queried.
Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) has sent a second letter to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, urging her to retract her sexual harassment allegation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The senior lawyer questioned her failure to clarify contradictions, including a now-deleted social media post praising Akpabio a day after the alleged December 8, 2023 incident. “You have failed to clarify your sexual harassment allegation… and your exaltation of Akpabio the next day,” Agbakoba stated.
Agbakoba highlighted the 14-month gap between the alleged incident and Akpoti-Uduaghan’s public accusation in February 2025, calling it “extremely concerning.” He stressed the burden of proof lies with the senator, whose suspension by the Senate remains in effect. The letter noted her deletion of the post as undermining credibility, demanding evidence to substantiate her claims.
