Senator Francis Fadahunsi has urged Nigerians to embrace farming to ease hunger while calling for mass voter registration.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industry, Francis Fadahunsi, has urged Nigerians to return to farming as a solution to the worsening hunger crisis.

Speaking with journalists in Ilase-Ijesa, Osun State, on Tuesday, the Osun East lawmaker commended President Bola Tinubu for encouraging governors to invest in agriculture. He predicted that Nigerians would “heave a sigh of relief” before the end of 2025.

“I am farming. Everybody should farm. If there is no hunger, automatically, we will be thinking right. The development is coming,” Fadahunsi said.

He noted that during the last NEC meeting, President Tinubu advised governors to “go deep into the local areas and invest more,” stressing that any governor who failed to act would “lose credibility because of the quantum of money being allocated to them.”

Fadahunsi also called on eligible citizens to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards, saying he has mobilised traditional rulers and community leaders to support voter registration.
