FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says he cannot consider forgiving suspended Rivers Governor Sim Fubara as he has not sought forgiveness, despite Tompolo’s appeal for peace.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has not sought his forgiveness, despite calls by ex-militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, for peace.

Tompolo had urged Wike to forgive his estranged political godson to restore calm in the state. However, Wike, speaking through his aide, Lere Olayinka, insisted forgiveness could only be considered if Fubara acknowledges any wrongdoing and seeks reconciliation.

“There’s no offence unless someone accepts they have wronged you and comes to seek forgiveness,” Olayinka said. He clarified that Wike’s concerns stemmed from governance principles and Fubara’s alleged abandonment of loyal supporters, not personal betrayal.

He added that Wike never labelled Fubara a bad person until the governor allegedly turned against those who supported his rise. “Let him search his soul and ask where things changed,” he said.
