Cristiano Ronaldo took a light-hearted jab at NBA star LeBron James while discussing athletic longevity, joking that he has “more hair” than the basketball legend.
Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a cheeky swipe at Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James during an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, according to Larry Brown Sports reporting.
In the two-part interview, Ronaldo, 40, was asked about athletes who inspire him to keep performing at a high level. He cited James as an example but couldn’t resist adding humor. “[There are] good examples in other sports as well,” Ronaldo said. “For example, basketball, LeBron James. I think we are the same age. I have more hair than him though.”
Ronaldo and James, both 40, remain active in professional sports more than two decades after debuting in 2002 and 2003 respectively. While the two icons share remarkable longevity, James has long faced jokes about his receding hairline — a topic he has occasionally laughed about himself.
The lighthearted comment quickly went viral, as fans celebrated Ronaldo’s blend of admiration and humor toward one of basketball’s greatest players.
