“You know I have a lot of affection for Argentina, my wife is from there. I have already been invited to play in the Club World Cup for an Argentine club. You never know… the time is there.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested he might still play alongside Lionel Messi before both legends retire from football.
The Al Nassr forward, whose contract expires on June 30, is reportedly considering a move away from the Saudi Pro League. One of his potential options is Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
Speaking ahead of Portugal’s UEFA Nations League final against Spain, Ronaldo told reporters, “You know I have a lot of affection for Argentina, my wife is from there. I have already been invited to play in the Club World Cup for an Argentine club. You never know… the time is there.”
Although the 40-year-old believes the possibility is slim, he added, “I am already 40 years old, but you never know. I have never been to Argentina… I have a lot of affection for the Argentines.”
