President Zelenskyy condemned the strikes, demanding increased air‑defence support and accusing Russia of deliberately targeting civilians.
Russia launched a fresh barrage of drones and missiles across Ukraine overnight, flouting former U.S. President Trump’s 50‑day ceasefire ultimatum. The strikes, targeting at least four cities including Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia and Odesa, damaged critical energy infrastructure and injured around 15 civilians.
President Trump had warned Moscow that secondary tariffs of 100% would be imposed if it failed to halt hostilities within 50 days. Russia, undeterred, continued its aerial offensive, claiming the attacks were aimed at military‑industrial facilities. However, Ukrainian sources report that residential and public utilities were hit.
Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy condemned the strikes, demanding increased air‑defence support and accusing Russia of deliberately targeting civilians. In response, NATO pledged advanced Patriot missile systems and other weapons, saying the burden would be shared among European allies.
