“Grave concern over Israeli violations.”
Russia is keeping a close watch on developments in Nigeria following President Trump’s comments about possible U.S. military action, according to Anadolu Agency reporting.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters in Moscow on Friday that Russia is “closely monitoring this issue” and urged Washington to comply with international law. “We call on all parties involved to strictly comply with international legal norms,” she said.
President Trump had earlier directed the Pentagon to prepare options for potential military measures against terrorist groups in Nigeria to protect Christian communities.
Zakharova also responded to a question on Kazakhstan’s decision to join the Abraham Accords, saying Moscow saw “no need to comment” at this time.
She further voiced “grave concern” over alleged Israeli violations of ceasefire agreements along the Lebanese border, stressing that Russia continues to engage both sides to prevent renewed violence.
