Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko, married to four wives, argued on Channels Television’s Politics Today that polygamy offers men greater stability, adding, “I feel sorry for those who have one wife… with two, three, or four, you’re more balanced.”

Senator Ned Nwoko (Delta North) has sparked controversy by expressing pity for men with only one wife, arguing that polygamy provides greater stability.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, Nwoko said: “I feel sorry for those who have one wife. Just imagine standing on one leg — it’s difficult. But with two, three, or four, you’re more balanced. That’s the example I give.”
When challenged on the Bible’s endorsement of polygamy, the lawmaker, who has four wives, countered: “The Old Testament does. I am a man of faith. But that’s not what we are here for.”
Nwoko maintained he had “no regret” about his marital choices, stating, “I would do the same thing again. You should marry who you want to marry.”

He also used the opportunity to dismiss recent allegations of domestic violence involving his actress wife, Regina Daniels, describing them as “false and unfounded,” adding, “I am not a violent person. I respect my wives and love them and my kids.” His comments follow reports of household tension after Daniels unveiled a new mansion.
