Jannik Sinner beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets to reach his first Wimbledon final, where he will face Carlos Alcaraz in a much-anticipated showdown.

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner crushed Novak Djokovic’s hopes of a record 25th Grand Slam title on Friday, defeating the Serbian in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4, to reach his first Wimbledon final.

Sinner, 23, took advantage of a weary Djokovic—who had suffered a fall in his quarter-final—to secure his maiden win over him on grass, after losses at Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023. He will now face Carlos Alcaraz in a repeat of last month’s French Open final.

Alcaraz, the two-time defending Wimbledon champion, advanced after overcoming Taylor Fritz 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (7-6) in an intense semi-final. “I’m just really happy with everything that I’ve done today,” said Alcaraz.

The Spaniard, 22, has now reached six Grand Slam finals and boasts a 24-match winning streak. He has won 35 of 38 career matches on grass.

Stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Sachin Tendulkar were in attendance for the thrilling semi-finals on Centre Court.
