Slovenia will introduce a one-year digital nomad visa from November 21, 2025, targeting non-EU remote workers. Here’s who qualifies and how to apply.
Slovenia is set to join the growing list of European countries offering a digital nomad visa, with the launch of a one-year residence permit for remote workers beginning 21 November 2025.
The visa will be available to non-EU and non-EEA nationals who work exclusively for foreign employers or clients. Applicants must show proof of income—such as payslips, bank statements, or contracts—to support themselves and their families.
While family members may join the visa holder, they are also prohibited from working for Slovenian companies. The visa is non-renewable, and reapplication will only be possible after spending six months outside Slovenia.
Applications can be submitted online or through Slovenian embassies and consulates.
Authorities hope the scheme will attract global talent and boost long-term tourism.
This marks Slovenia’s first official visa program for remote workers. With a lower cost of living than nearby Italy or Austria, the country is positioning itself as a new destination for digital nomads seeking both affordability and European charm.
