Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has called for an inclusive dialogue on the future of the Igbo people, urging peaceful engagement instead of separatist agitation and expressing hope for Nnamdi Kanu’s eventual release.
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has urged for open dialogue on the future of the Igbo people, stressing the need for inclusivity in addressing separatist agitations in the southeast.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme monitored by SaharaReporters, Soludo said, “I want us to have a conversation. I have said why I need Nnamdi Kanu to come and sit with everybody else because nobody has better rights than the other.”
The former Central Bank Governor said he does not support secession but prefers constructive engagement. “We are all Igbos and are all entitled to our views… we will all sit in a room and debate it: are we served better being out of Nigeria or within Nigeria?” he said.
Soludo maintained that “the Igbo man needs Nigeria and Nigeria needs the Igbo man,” emphasising peaceful coexistence and tolerance as vital for progress.
Expressing optimism over Nnamdi Kanu’s eventual release, he said, “When Nnamdi Kanu comes out, we will all sit down at a round table and interrogate our alternative visions for Igbo land.”
