Prison sources said the 26-year-old student was calm on arrival and “kept separate from other inmates” as a first-time offender.

Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger involved in a disturbance at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, has begun her remand at the female wing of the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

Brought in by Airport Police Command officers around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Emmanson’s remand order expires on October 6. Prison sources told Vanguard the 26-year-old student was calm on arrival and “kept separate from other inmates” as a first-time offender.

“She might have been known for the fracas at the airport, but our classification here doesn’t qualify her as a VIP,” the source added.

Emmanson was briefed on prison rules and offered vocational training options. She has received visitors, though officials declined to reveal their identities, citing prison regulations. Another source said staff had been instructed not to release further details of her stay.
