“During Buhari’s tenure, no one gave him this kind of political trouble… Now that a Southerner is president, everyone suddenly wants change?”
A prominent South-Western socio-political group, the Oduduwa Integrity Association, has cautioned Northern politicians against what it describes as unjustified attacks on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking on behalf of the group, National President Evangelist/Engr/Hon. Omotoso Banji said: “Are you accusing Tinubu of mismanaging the economy, or is this about political neglect now that a Southerner is in power? We need to know, or else we will interpret this uproar as political witch-hunting.”
He urged Northern critics to provide factual comparisons with previous administrations. “What was the state of the economy when Tinubu took over?… How often did lecturers go on strike compared to the Jonathan and Buhari eras?”
Omotoso argued that Tinubu’s economic reforms, including subsidy removal, were necessary.
“If this continues, we will convene a National South-Western People’s Assembly,” he warned.
The group condemned perceived double standards, saying: “During Buhari’s tenure, no one gave him this kind of political trouble… Now that a Southerner is president, everyone suddenly wants change?”
