Sowore has called for the U.S. to arrest and extradite FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over alleged money laundering tied to properties in Florida.

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has said that efforts are underway to secure an international arrest warrant against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for alleged money laundering.

Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow Movement, made this known in a post on his verified X account on Monday, accusing Wike of using stolen funds to buy luxury homes in Florida in the names of his wife and three children. “Steps are already in motion toward securing an international warrant that could see Wike arrested and extradited to the U.S. to face money laundering charges sooner than he thinks,” he wrote.

His comments followed a fresh warning from the U.S. Mission in Nigeria that “corruption knows no borders,” stressing that even high-profile individuals could be denied visas under #VisaWiseTravelSmart.

Digital investigator Henry Omorere has also petitioned Florida’s Attorney General over Wike’s alleged crimes.
