Controversial musician Darlington Okoye, known as Speed Darlington, left Nigeria through the Immigration Service just before the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) declared him wanted for rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
NAPTIP’s warrant followed an Instagram video where he described raping a 15-year-old and paying hotel staff N2,000 to clean bloodstained sheets.
“Before he could come change the sheet for me, I had to dash him N2,000,” he said in the video.
Despite public outrage, Speed Darlington later denied the allegations in a letter posted online.
Meanwhile, footage circulated of him departing Nigeria with two suitcases, complaining about Air Peace’s nine-hour layover before reaching the US.
The Nigerian Immigration Service has yet to explain how he was able to exit the country while wanted by another federal agency.
His video appeared on Instagram and YouTube the same day NAPTIP issued its notice.
