A tragic accident on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo State has claimed the lives of several students heading to sit for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
According to a video seen by SaharaReporters, the incident occurred on Saturday morning and involved a commercial vehicle conveying the students to a JAMB centre in Ogbomoso.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle suffered a brake failure, leading to the fatal crash.
“Fatal accident claimed the life of the students that were going to write JAMB in OGBOMOSO on OYO road, Oyo State,” read the video’s caption.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, were unsuccessful as calls and messages went unanswered.
Meanwhile, JAMB announced the arrest of 27 impersonators during the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and delisted four CBT centres for failing to meet technical standards.
