Staff and students of the Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode, have accused Provost Abdulquadri Olanrewaju of corruption, exam manipulation, and extortion, sparking outrage over alleged political protection.

The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery, Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area, has been rocked by allegations of corruption, result manipulation, and extortion, with staff and students accusing Provost Abdulquadri Olanrewaju of running the school like a private business empire.

Insiders told SaharaReporters that internal and entrance examinations, as well as admissions, have been turned into avenues for political influence and financial gain.

“Some of the staff members, including the school provost, are manipulating results for students,” a staff member alleged, adding that certain students openly threaten colleagues because of their ties to the provost.

Multiple sources accused the management of demanding between N50,000 and N100,000 from students to secure passage into the next stage of training. One case involved a female student whose petty trader mother borrowed from a microfinance lender to pay a bribe, only for her daughter’s result to be later altered to “fail.”

Olanrewaju’s appointment in 2022 has also drawn controversy, as critics claim he lacks the legally required nursing degree.

Despite multiple petitions alleging forgery, bribery, and fraud, a government panel cleared him, a decision many described as a political cover-up.

Attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
