Sujimoto Construction has denied fraud allegations, insisting project delays were misrepresented and pledging legal action against those spreading the reports.
Luxury property developer Sujimoto Construction Limited has dismissed reports alleging its involvement in a $556,000 fraud, describing the claims as “malicious, false, and misleading.”
Group Managing Director, Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele, said the controversy stemmed from project delays rather than misconduct. “There is no fraud. What exists is a delay, nothing more… Those responsible for spreading these falsehoods will be held accountable,” he stated.
The company clarified that its flagship high-rise project, LeonardoBySujimoto, has not been abandoned but was temporarily slowed by regulatory and economic constraints. Approvals were secured in 2024, with completion targeted for December 2025.
Sujimoto added that refunds have been issued to all clients who requested them through a “transparent and verifiable process,” citing past successful developments such as The Giuliano and LucreziaBySujimoto, which reportedly appreciated from ₦285 million to over ₦2.5 billion in six years.
The firm reaffirmed its commitment to “transparency, excellence, and integrity” while condemning the alleged misuse of public institutions for private disputes.
