PARIS — Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and head coach Justin Madugu have been shortlisted for top honours at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.

Nnadozie is nominated for Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, while Coach Madugu is up for Women’s Coach of the Year.

The nominations follow Nigeria’s triumphant campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where the Falcons lifted their 10th continental title.

Nnadozie, who captained the team, delivered a string of heroic performances, including crucial penalty saves. Coach Madugu, appointed in 2023, is credited with reshaping the squad into a disciplined, attacking force.

The Ballon d’Or organisers unveiled the nominees list on Thursday, featuring top talent in global football.

The awards ceremony will take place on September 22 in Paris.
