The National Assembly Joint Committee on Constitution Review has approved the creation of an additional state in Nigeria’s South-East region to ensure equity among the country’s six geo-political zones.
The National Assembly has maintained that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension stands until the Court of Appeal delivers its verdict.

“As the volume of insertions increases, so does the risk of misallocation and abuse of public funds,” it noted.
“The decision to support Radda was a collective one, stemming from our assessment of his performance,” said Hon. Sada Soli.
The National Assembly’s resumption was marked by a heated exchange between Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and federal lawmakers over the state’s escalating insecurity.
