Nigeria’s House of Representatives has directed WAEC to suspend its planned 2026 transition to CBT, citing inadequate preparation among schools, especially in rural areas.
“Most of the over 25,500 schools across the country… do not have functional computers or qualified computer teachers.”
JAMB has reopened its portal for the upload of 2025 WAEC results, a mandatory requirement for UTME candidates seeking admission.
The latest incident came with WAEC’s 2025 WASSCE results, initially showing only 38.3% pass rates in key subjects.
WAEC reported that 1,763,470 candidates’ results have been fully processed, while 205,916 remain pending. Results of 191,053 candidates were withheld over alleged malpractice.

Affected candidates have been advised to re-check their results after 24 hours, by which time WAEC says the problem will be resolved.
