The parents of the two affected students were immediately notified along with the Buffalo Police. The district placed the teacher on paid administrative leave the same day as the incident.

A teacher at William J. Grabiarz School of Excellence in Buffalo has been suspended after accidentally giving two students THC-laced candy during a swim class. Believing the sweets were regular Sour Patch Kids, the teacher unknowingly handed out edibles labeled with 500mg of THC. One student, 11, said he felt his heart racing and admitted, “I was like, the scaredest kid in the world. And like, I didn’t want to, like, take anything from no one again.”

Both students were taken to a hospital for evaluation. Their parents are demanding answers. “Where did it come from? That was our main thing,” the boy’s father said. His mother added, “We look for our children to be protected going to school.”

The district confirmed the teacher was placed on paid leave the same day. “This was an isolated incident,” it said, noting swift response and police involvement.
