A 17-year-old is suing the developer of an AI “clothes removal” tool after a classmate used it to create a fake nude image of her.

A New Jersey teenager is suing the developer of ClothOff, an AI “clothes removal” tool, after a male classmate used it to create a fake nude image of her when she was 14. The images were shared among Westfield High School students in group chats.

The lawsuit, filed by a Yale Law School professor and a trial attorney, names AI/Robotics Venture Strategy3, the app’s developer, and Telegram, where the tool was accessible via bots. The plaintiff alleges the images constitute CSAM. The developer, based in the British Virgin Islands, claims processing minors’ images is impossible and it does not save data.

The girl says she lives in “constant fear” that the faked image of her is on the internet. The suit demands the company delete all non-consensual images and remove its tool. Telegram has since banned ClothOff for violating its terms of service.
