Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford to ease pressure on manager Ruben Amorim, with both teams finishing with ten men.

Manchester United eased pressure on manager Ruben Amorim with a tense 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday, as both sides ended with ten men.

Chelsea’s goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was dismissed after just five minutes for a reckless challenge, and Bruno Fernandes capitalised soon after, marking his 100th goal for United in all competitions on his 200th Premier League appearance. Casemiro doubled the lead before being sent off in first-half stoppage time for a second yellow card.

Trevoh Chalobah’s late header reduced the deficit, but United held on to secure only their second win in six matches.

The result lifted United to ninth in the table, easing the mounting pressure on Amorim, who has struggled since replacing Erik ten Hag last November. Club co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, present in the directors’ box, watched Amorim’s side end Chelsea’s unbeaten league run.
