Suspected bandits on Wednesday night attacked a police station in the Ipele-Owo community of Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State, causing panic among residents. The incident occurred around 10 pm while many residents were preparing for crossover church services, forcing both police officers and community members to flee for safety.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers, numbering about 20, arrived at the station shooting sporadically before reportedly setting the building ablaze. The incident created tension across the community as residents deserted the area to avoid being caught in the violence. Authorities were yet to officially confirm casualties or the extent of damage as of the time of this report.
