A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday remanded musician Terry Alexander Ejeh, popularly known as Terry Apala, in a correctional facility over alleged naira note mutilation.

Justice Akintayo Aluko gave the order following the singer’s arraignment by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate on a one-count charge.

The charge reads: “That you, TERRY ALEXANDER EJEH, on the 5th day of January, 2025, at La Madison Place, Oniru… tampered with Naira notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by marching on the same…”

Terry Apala pleaded not guilty.

The defence prayed for a short date for bail hearing and sought his release. “He came on his own,” counsel Felix Nwabuda said.

The prosecution opposed, calling the application “alien and unheard of.”

Justice Aluko adjourned till May 5 and ordered remand.
