“Obinna and other young men across Africa were invited by the company in Myanmar in Thailand to work in a factory job.”
The family of an Imo-born engineer, Obinna Okeadu, has called for justice following his death in an alleged job scam and torture camp operated by a syndicate in Myanmar, Thailand. The 33-year-old from Mbano, Imo State, reportedly fell victim to traffickers who lured job seekers from Nigeria with fake employment offers.
A relative, Okechukwu Okeadu, told journalists in Abuja that Obinna was deceived into believing he had secured a factory job, only to find himself trapped in an underground camp. “Obinna and other young men across Africa were invited by the company in Myanmar in Thailand to work in a factory job,” he said.
Family sources alleged that victims are subjected to torture, extortion, and organ harvesting. “We want to see his body if Obinna is dead or alive,” they said. The family urged the Federal Government to investigate the death and rescue other Nigerians reportedly held in Myanmar and Cambodian “slave camps.”
