Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal is set to be handed the club’s iconic No. 10 jersey, previously worn by Lionel Messi, after a standout season.
The 17-year-old La Masia product has played a key role in Barcelona’s domestic treble and is now seen as a strong contender for the 2025 Ballon d’Or. “Yamal could be the youngest ever Ballon d’Or winner,” reports suggest.
The No. 10 shirt is currently held by Ansu Fati, who may leave following injury setbacks. Barcelona plan to offer Yamal a long-term contract upon turning 18, including a €1 billion release clause to prevent transfer risks. Yamal, currently wearing No. 19, will benefit from rest this summer after playing over 8,600 minutes in two seasons.
