President Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and other dignitaries will attend the coronation of Senator Rasidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland at Mapo Hall next Friday.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso are among dignitaries expected to attend the coronation of Senator Rasidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The installation ceremony is scheduled to hold next Friday at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan. Tinubu and Ladoja share a long political history, having both served in the Senate during the short-lived Third Republic. They later governed Lagos and Oyo States respectively in the early 2000s.
Speaking at his Bodija residence during a courtesy visit, Oba Ladoja said Tinubu and other top personalities had assured him of their presence at the coronation. Chairman of the Coronation Committee, Chief Bayo Oyero, confirmed the attendance of eminent guests, describing the event as “a great cultural and historical significance.”
Oyero added: “The ascension of Oba Ladoja is a journey of many years back, a path meticulously followed and guided by the wisdom of the ancestors.”
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, said the Olubadan stool represents a revered identity for Ibadan, Yorubaland, and Nigeria, stressing that Ladoja’s coronation embodies unity, peace, and Yoruba heritage.
