President Tinubu has condemned the killing of Arise TV anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu in Abuja, calling for swift justice.
President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the death of Arise Television anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, who was killed during a robbery at her Katampe residence in Abuja.
In a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, Tinubu extended condolences to Maduagwu’s family, Arise News, and the Nigerian media community.
He said, “Maduagwu was a promising professional journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner. Security and law enforcement agencies should conduct a quick and thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”
Police have opened an investigation into the killing of the 29-year-old journalist.
