Tinubu launches 465km Ebonyi-Calabar superhighway project

President Tinubu, represented by Governor Nwifuru, launched the 465km Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue-Nasarawa-Abuja Superhighway, with Minister Umahi praising its transformative impact on the region.

President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the construction of the 465-kilometre Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue-Nasarawa-Abuja Superhighway, a project aimed at transforming infrastructure in the region. The flag-off ceremony took place at Amuro Primary School in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Wednesday, with Tinubu represented by Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru.

In his address, Nwifuru highlighted the significance of the project for the people of the South-East, noting that it would enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth. “This project reflects the President’s resolve to deploy infrastructure as a tool for national development and growth,” Nwifuru stated.

Minister of Works, David Umahi, praised Tinubu for his inclusivity and unifying leadership. “He is a unifier, a true Nigerian, and a patriotic leader who has the entire nation at heart,” Umahi said, emphasizing the project’s potential to reduce transportation costs, boost employment, and improve security.
