President Bola Tinubu will deliver a nationwide address at 7 a.m. on October 1 to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, with expectations that he will review national progress and ongoing reforms.

President Bola Tinubu will deliver a nationwide broadcast on Wednesday, October 1, to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary. His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the address in a statement titled “2025 Independence Anniversary: President Tinubu Addresses The Nation.”

The broadcast is scheduled for 7 a.m., with all radio, television, and electronic media urged to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

Independence Day speeches traditionally allow presidents to assess national progress, outline policy directions, and reassure citizens of unity and development.

Tinubu’s previous addresses focused on economic reforms, fuel subsidy removal, and security efforts. This year’s message is expected to highlight strides in economic recovery, security operations, and infrastructure projects while reflecting on Nigeria’s six-decade journey since independence in 1960.
