Spurs fans react with anger on social media as reports suggest Ange Postecoglou could be sacked days after winning the Europa League.
Tottenham Hotspur fans erupted on social media on Sunday as rumours spread that manager Ange Postecoglou could be sacked just days after delivering the club’s first major trophy in 17 years.
Despite a poor Premier League campaign that ended with a 17th-place finish, Postecoglou’s Europa League triumph over Manchester United was seen as redemption by fans.
The speculation claims Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has already decided to part ways with the Australian, with Brentford’s Thomas Frank or Fulham’s Marco Silva tipped as possible replacements.
Football London reported that Levy is still deliberating, but that has done little to calm fan outrage.
“Daniel Levy is an embarrassment,” one fan posted. “Sacked Jose Mourinho the week before a Cup Final and now sacks Postecoglou after he wins a trophy.”
Another wrote: “If Ange Postecoglou is sacked, it will be #1 on the list of disastrous decisions Daniel Levy has ever made.”
