Trump accuses Obama of treason as Epstein pressure mounts

Trump pivots from Epstein questions to accusing Obama of leading a coup. “It’s there, he’s guilty. This was treason,” Trump said without offering evidence.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday accused former President Barack Obama of “treason,” claiming—without evidence—that Obama led a conspiracy to falsely tie him to Russia during the 2016 election.

Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump cited declassified intelligence documents released by his director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, as proof of a “treasonous conspiracy.”

“It’s there, he’s guilty. This was treason,” Trump declared. “They tried to steal the election.”

Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush dismissed the claims as “bizarre allegations” and “a weak attempt at distraction.”

The renewed attacks come as Trump faces mounting pressure from conservatives to release more files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case. Asked about Epstein, Trump shifted focus to Obama and Clinton.

Trump has frequently promoted conspiracy theories, including reposting a fake video of Obama being arrested.

Democrats dismissed the latest claims as politically motivated, with Rep. Jim Himes calling them “a lie” and urging Trump to consult bipartisan intelligence reports.
