President Trump told NBC he has no intention of seeking a third term, despite speculation stirred by past remarks and campaign merchandise. “I’ll be a two-term president,” he said, adding that constitutional limits are clear.

President Donald Trump has dismissed speculation that he may seek a third term in office, affirming his commitment to serving only two terms.

“I’ll be an eight-year president, I’ll be a two-term president. I always thought that was very important,” Trump said in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press set to air Sunday.

Trump had previously remarked he wasn’t “joking” about a third or fourth term, later calling such comments a way to troll the “fake news media.” His company has sold “Trump 2028” hats, fueling speculation.

Speaking from his Florida residence, Trump said, “So many people want me to do it,” but added, “this is not something I’m looking to do,” noting Republicans like Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as potential successors.

“It’s something that, to the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed to do,” he said, referencing the 22nd Amendment, which limits presidents to two terms.

Trump also defended his economic policies, saying, “I think we’re going to do fantastically.”
