President Donald Trump has issued full pardons to a number of his allies involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election, according to the Department of Justice’s Pardon Attorney.

Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump has granted pardons to a broad group of political allies involved in alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, according to a statement by the Department of Justice’s Pardon Attorney, Ed Martin, CNN reports.

The proclamation, posted by Martin on X late Sunday, lists high-profile figures including Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and former chief of staff Mark Meadows. “This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” the document states, dated November 7.

The pardons are described as “full, complete, and unconditional” and include some co-defendants charged in Georgia over efforts to subvert Trump’s 2020 election defeat. Presidential pardons only cover federal charges and do not extend to state or local cases, and the proclamation notes explicitly that it does not apply to Trump himself.

CNN has reached out to the White House and Martin’s office for comment.

In related actions, Trump also granted clemency last week to a retired New York City police officer convicted in 2023 for stalking a New Jersey family on behalf of China, and former Major League Baseball star Darryl Strawberry for a 1995 tax evasion case, according to reporting.
