President Donald Trump has granted sweeping pardons to close allies involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

President Donald Trump has issued broad pardons to several allies linked to attempts to overturn the 2020 election, according to a report from CNN citing the U.S. Department of Justice’s Pardon Attorney, Ed Martin.

Martin shared the proclamation on X late Sunday, naming Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani, attorney Sidney Powell, and ex–White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows among dozens of others. “This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” the document read.

The order, dated November 7 and signed by President Trump, grants a “full, complete, and unconditional pardon” to those listed, including some co-defendants charged in Georgia for allegedly attempting to subvert Trump’s 2020 defeat. However, presidential pardons cover only federal offenses and not state or local charges.

The proclamation explicitly states that it does not apply to Trump himself. CNN reported that both the White House and Martin’s office have been contacted for comment.

The pardons follow recent acts of clemency, including for a retired New York police officer convicted for spying for China and former baseball star Darryl Strawberry, who faced a 1995 tax evasion charge.
