Trump responds to Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis

Trump has long criticized Biden, particularly during the 2024 presidential campaign that saw Biden step down due to concerns raised from inside and outside the Democratic Party.

Former President Donald Trump on Sunday night extended well wishes to Joe Biden following news of the former president’s diagnosis with aggressive prostate cancer. Despite their longstanding political rivalry, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

The diagnosis was announced by Biden’s personal office earlier on Sunday, revealing he was seen for a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. “On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the statement read, calling it a more aggressive form that is, fortunately, hormone-sensitive.

Trump, 78, frequently questioned Biden’s physical and cognitive health during the 2024 campaign. Biden, now 82, stepped down amid growing concerns over his fitness to serve.
