Trump has renewed his feud with London Mayor Sadiq Khan, calling him a “nasty person” doing a “terrible job” ahead of his September visit to the UK.
Former US President Donald Trump has reignited his long-running feud with the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, describing him as a “nasty person” who has done a “terrible job.”
Speaking at a press conference with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Trump Turnberry, Trump confirmed plans to visit London during his state visit in September. “I will,” he said, before adding, “I’m not a fan of your Mayor. I think he’s done a terrible job… He’s a nasty person.”
Sir Keir, seated beside Trump, interjected: “He’s a friend of mine.” Trump, however, doubled down on his criticism.
Their tensions date back to Trump’s first presidency, when he branded Khan a “stone-cold loser” and challenged him to an IQ test. In response, Khan called Trump a “poster boy for racists” and later said Trump’s attacks were racially motivated.
Trump’s state visit is scheduled for September 17–19, with meetings expected at Windsor Castle hosted by the King and Queen.
