Former U.S. President Donald Trump has pledged to withdraw federal research funding from universities and institutions that support boycotts against Israel.
Speaking at a campaign event, Trump said, “No taxpayer dollars will go to schools that support the anti-Semitic boycott of Israel.”
He criticized what he described as growing anti-Israel sentiment on U.S. campuses and vowed to crack down on institutions aligned with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Trump’s comments come amid intensifying political divisions over the Israel-Palestine conflict and rising campus protests.
The former president emphasized that support for Israel would be a non-negotiable element of U.S. foreign and domestic policy if he returns to office.
