Tucker Carlson has called Ben Shapiro’s defense of the Epstein case “absurd,” accusing him of blindly trusting government claims and discouraging scrutiny.
Tucker Carlson harshly criticized Ben Shapiro on Friday night during his speech at Turning Point USA’s Conservative Student Action Summit in Tampa, calling Shapiro’s dismissal of the Jeffrey Epstein case “absurd.”
Shapiro had earlier urged followers to move on, saying in a video, “I don’t have any reason to believe those people are lying to me, and they have better information than I do.” Carlson pushed back: “It’s exactly the kind of thinking that I personally voted against in the last election.”
Carlson accused Shapiro of blindly trusting the government and discouraging serious questions. The Department of Justice recently reiterated that Epstein died by suicide and had no secret “client list,” prompting backlash and calls for Attorney General Pam Bondi’s resignation.
Carlson also claimed Epstein was connected to foreign intelligence: “It’s extremely obvious… this guy had direct connections to a foreign government.” He questioned how Epstein amassed wealth, power, and influence, claiming, “No one has ever tried to get to the bottom of it.”
