Think Yoruba First has called for economic and cultural unity to empower Yoruba youths and preserve the race’s global influence.
A socio-cultural group, Think Yoruba First (TYF), says unity among the Yoruba is key to preserving their culture and empowering millions of youths economically. TYF President, Oladimeji Bolarinwa, stated this on Saturday during the third annual global Yoruba conference in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking on the theme ‘Yorubaland in 200 Years: Status of Youths – Economic Empowerment and Yoruba Economic Development within Nigeria’, Bolarinwa said, “We need to practise groupnomics in terms of culture, economics, education, civilisation. That is the power that will unite us as a people.”
He added that the group’s mission is “not one of secession, rebellion or taking up arms,” but of “educational and cultural integration.”
TYF Secretary-General Dr. Bukola Adeniji said true federalism would unlock opportunities for Yoruba youths. Meanwhile, DAWN Commission DG Seye Oyeleye urged youths to embed Yoruba culture in AI and digital platforms. Dr. Dipo Awojide stressed entrepreneurship as key to eradicating poverty in Yorubaland.
