“I’ve lately been considering whether we might be Israel’s proxy and not realized it yet,” he wrote. He also questioned U.S. support for Israel, calling the alliance unbeneficial and provocative.

WASHINGTON — Colonel Nathan McCormack has been removed from his post at the Joint Chiefs of Staff after a series of anti-Israel posts on his X account surfaced, prompting backlash and internal review.

McCormack, who served as the Levant and Egypt branch chief under the J5 directorate advising the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, was dismissed after calling Israel a “death cult” and referring to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government as “Judeo-supremacist cronies,” according to the Jewish News Syndicate. He also questioned U.S. support for Israel, calling the alliance unbeneficial and provocative.

A Joint Staff official confirmed to The Daily Wire that McCormack has been relieved of his duties, and the matter is now under review by the U.S. Army.

“Our global alliances and partnerships are vital to our national security,” the official stated, emphasizing McCormack’s views do not reflect those of the Department of Defense.

McCormack’s account, now deleted, included criticisms of Israeli policy following the October 7 Hamas attacks and alleged disproportionate retaliation by Israel. He also posted sensitive details about internal deliberations and briefings, including warnings issued to Israel and canceled military trips.

In one post, he alleged, “We warned Israel it would be ‘fuxked’ if it escalated into Lebanon.” He also wrote that U.S. agencies regard Gaza Health Ministry casualty figures as “generally reliable.”

The Pentagon enforces strict social media policies barring posts that imply endorsement or use of official capacity to express personal opinions.
