Thomas Frank’s side looked set for victory when Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero put them 2–0 ahead. Van de Ven struck just before halftime, reacting quickest during a goalmouth scramble to beat debutant PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. Romero doubled the lead early in the second half, rising above the defence to head home after a poorly handled cross.
PSG’s late surge began in the 85th minute when Lee Kang-in’s precise finish gave Luis Enrique’s men hope. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Gonçalo Ramos pounced inside the box to level, sparking wild celebrations among the Parisian fans.
Under UEFA rules, the match went straight to penalties. Tottenham converted through Solanke, Bentancur and Dembélé, while goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario made a crucial stop to deny Mathys Tel. However, PSG held their nerve to secure the shootout win and lift the Super Cup.
