Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, says the South-East will produce Nigeria’s president one day, but not in 2027. He urged the region to support President Tinubu’s re-election instead.

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has stated that the South-East will produce Nigeria’s president someday, but not in 2027. In a statement responding to an article alleging neglect of the region in road projects, Umahi dismissed the claims as “misleading” and politically motivated.

“I understand that politics is now in the air… but Mr. President is doing selfless infrastructure development all over the nation,” he said.

He urged the region to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, noting that infrastructure projects are fairly distributed.

Umahi also directed Ministry of Works’ regional directors to compile ongoing and new projects for public awareness, adding that Tinubu is “using fair distribution of infrastructure to reunite Nigerians and renew their hope.”
