At least 38 Palestinians were killed overnight in a wave of Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, Palestinian medics reported.

Targets included a school in eastern Gaza City and a fuel station sheltering displaced families in Nuseirat, according to the Hamas-run civil defence agency.

Rescue efforts were hampered by equipment shortages and ongoing bombardments.

The attacks followed Israel’s sweeping evacuation order and warnings of an “unprecedented assault.” Shujaiya neighborhood also faced intense bombardment, reportedly targeting Hamas tunnel networks.

UK, France, and Canada issued a joint statement threatening consequences if Prime Minister Netanyahu continued the offensive. Netanyahu dismissed the statement as a “huge prize” for Hamas.

Israel pledged to allow a “basic amount” of aid, but UN aid chief Tom Fletcher said the supplies remain woefully insufficient.

Over 53,000 Palestinians have died since the war began.
