A one-storey building housing a restaurant collapsed on Friday in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos, trapping several workers and customers. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident, noting that rescue operations were underway. “An adult female has been rescued and taken to the hospital,” said LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.
He added, “Search and rescue of the remaining trapped victims are ongoing.” The incident occurred at 15, Herbert Macaulay Way, opposite the Ondo Filling Station. Emergency responders, including fire services and police, are at the scene to ensure the safety of surrounding residents and prevent further damage.
