The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has announced new immigration filing fees that will take effect on January 1, 2026, following mandatory annual inflation adjustments required under H.R. 1.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has unveiled new immigration filing fees set to take effect on January 1, 2026, in line with the annual inflation adjustment mandated under H.R. 1, reflecting inflation between July 2024 and July 2025.

USCIS explained that the Department of Homeland Security is required to revise several immigration fees each fiscal year based on inflation, noting that “applications postmarked on or after January 1, 2026, must carry the new costs.”

The updated fees affect multiple categories, including asylum-related filings, Employment Authorization Documents (EADs), parole-related requests and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) applications, with increases ranging from 2 to 10 dollars depending on the category. Some fees remain unchanged, such as the 100-dollar Form I-589 Asylum Fee and the 250-dollar Form I-360 Special Immigrant Juvenile Fee.

USCIS warned that submissions with incorrect fees after the deadline will be rejected, potentially delaying authorizations and renewals, and urged applicants and legal representatives to review the updated fee schedule ahead of implementation.
