US Congressman Riley M. Moore says Nigeria must release Sunday Jackson and present a credible plan to disarm Fulani militants before any US military partnership can be considered.
US Congressman Riley M . Moore has stated that the United States will only consider entering a military partnership with Nigeria if two key conditions are met: the release of Sunday Jackson—sentenced to death for killing a Fulani herdsman he claimed invaded his farm—and the presentation of a credible strategy to disarm violent Fulani militants in the Middle Belt.
Speaking in a Fox News interview, Moore said Nigerian officials “met with myself and the administration,” noting that while progress was made, “one of the first steps is releasing Sunday Jackson” and another is “working with us with a plan to disarm the radical Fulani militants in the Middle Belt of the country.”
