Despite being celebrated in Nigeria as a philanthropist and socialite with ties to Hushpuppi, Oluwaseun remains unprosecuted and has gone quiet online.
Ehonre Oluwaseun, a Lagos-based entrepreneur known as Classic Baggie, has been indicted in the US for leading a cybercrime syndicate dubbed the “Miami Crew.”
According to court documents obtained by PREMIUM TIMES, Oluwaseun orchestrated romance and business email compromise (BEC) fraud schemes alongside his US-based partner, Olugbenga Lawal, who was sentenced to over 10 years in prison.
“The Miami Crew would send Lawal illicit proceeds… at the instruction of Classic Baggie,” the court revealed. Lawal also repatriated stolen funds to Nigeria by purchasing cars in the US.
Despite being celebrated in Nigeria as a philanthropist and socialite with ties to Hushpuppi, Oluwaseun remains unprosecuted and has gone quiet online. US prosecutors face jurisdictional challenges, but extradition remains possible under Nigeria’s treaty with the US.
Lawal’s motion for acquittal was denied, with the court affirming evidence of his conspiracy with Oluwaseun.
While indicted, Classic Baggie has not yet been arrested or brought to trial.
